Shaney-Lee Shines on “The Voice Kids” UK with Enchanting John Denver Cover

Seven-year-old Shaney-Lee, a young country enthusiast from a farm in southwest England, made a memorable debut on “The Voice Kids” UK with a touching audition of John Denver’s classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Living among horses, goats, and chickens, Shaney-Lee’s deep connection to rural life made this song a perfect choice for his blind audition.

His charming response to judge will.i.am’s question, “Have you ridden on a horse?” with, “I came here on my horse today,” added an extra dose of endearing authenticity to his already captivating presence.

From the moment he took the stage, Shaney-Lee’s cuteness was undeniable, and while the judges were immediately charmed, they were eager to hear his performance. As he began singing, “Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze, country roads, take me home…,” judge Danny Jones was quick to remark, “That is the cutest voice I’ve ever heard!”

The audience was equally enchanted. Within moments, they were on their feet, clapping along, and some were even moved to tears by his heartfelt rendition.

“The Voice Kids” UK, which features contestants aged 7 to 14, showcased not only Shaney-Lee’s adorable performance but also his soulful maturity, as his mom describes him as “definitely an older person in a little man’s body.”

Judge Pixie Lott, overwhelmed by his cuteness, couldn’t hold back her emotions, further highlighting the touching impact of Shaney-Lee’s audition.
