A few months ago, I was having one of those awful mornings where nothing seemed to go right. I spilled coffee on my shirt, missed the bus, and forgot my lunch at home. By the time I made it to work, I was on the verge of tears.
On my way inside, I saw a little girl sitting outside with her dad. She was drawing something on the sidewalk with chalk. As I passed, she looked up and said, “You’re so pretty!”
I was stunned. Me? Pretty? In my coffee-stained shirt and messy hair? I laughed awkwardly and thanked her. Then her dad said, “She loves making people smile—it’s her superpower.”
That tiny, sweet moment turned my whole day around. I couldn’t stop smiling after that.
