The Swiss Guard Is “Rehearsing Pontiff’s Funeral” After The 88-Year-Old Said, “I May Not Survive” Pneumonia

According to reports, the 88-year-old Pope warned that he might not survive illness, therefore they are practicing his funeral.

According to Swiss daily Blick, the Swiss Guard, which is guarding the 88-year-old Pope, is practicing his funeral while its men are under curfew ‘preparing for the pontiff’s death’.

Despite the Pope’s earlier declaration that he had “already prepared” his tomb, the coffin’s location and its design would defy convention.

Pope Francis was sent to the Gemelli hospital in Rome on Friday due to severe chest problems after refusing to leave the Vatican for days.

The Vatican has canceled or rescheduled his papal audiences this week after doctors determined that Francis had a “complex” respiratory ailment and prohibited him from participating in a number of engagements.

In addition to confirming the pneumonia, the Vatican announced on Tuesday that Francis’ respiratory ailment also includes asthmatic bronchitis, which calls for the use of corticosteroid antibiotics.

“Laboratory tests, chest X-ray, and the Holy Father’s clinical condition continue to present a complex picture,” the Vatican said. The infection is of particular concern because the Pope had part of his lung removed many years ago.

Italian Cardinal Angelo Comastri, 81, told broadcaster Rai about the Pope’s condition: “Francis is very calm. His helm is in the hands of the Lord.”

Politico report now claims that two individuals close to the pope said Francis informed them he’might not make it this time’.

At a politically delicate moment for the Catholic Church, the Pope has taken steps in recent weeks to “tie up loose ends” and guarantee the continuance of his legacy, maybe aware of his limited time.

In an effort to pray for Pope Francis, people have allegedly traveled to the Gemelli Hospital in western Rome.

Medical professionals diagnosed him on Monday with a polymicrobial respiratory tract infection, which is a condition in which a variety of bacteria, viruses, and potentially other organisms have colonized his respiratory tract and caused double pneumonia.

In addition to intravenous fluids and treatment of the underlying cause of the infection, treatment may involve administering oxygen via a nasal tube or mask, depending on the severity of the illness.

Francis is not now on supplemental oxygen, and he has been working from his hospital room, reading the newspapers, and eating breakfast every day.

Other than stating that Francis does not have a temperature, the Vatican has not elaborated on how he is reacting to any of the medications that have been administered to him.

Given the severity of his condition, Francis’ absence of a temperature was not always a good thing, according to Dr. Carmelo D’Asero, a specialist in infectious diseases and geriatric diseases in Rome.

“A high fever is a sign of an immune response to a pathogen,” he said.

“Having a low fever and having a serious bronchial infection .. is a sign of a decreased immune response and that makes us worry a little bit more, let’s say. “

“Maybe if he had a fever, it would have been better.”

The Vatican has stated that the pope would need a “adequate” stay in the hospital to manage his “complex clinical picture,” which has already necessitated many adjustments to his medication schedule. However, they have not provided an estimated length of stay.
